The Washington Post: For Women of LatinaCon, Growth in Number and Influence
The Washington Post quoted Davidson's Williamson Professor of Hispanic Studies Magdalena Maiz-Peña, in an article about the recent LatinaCon gathering in Charlotte. The conference promoted activism by Latina women in politics and other public arenas. Maiz-Pena urged women to be at the center of life in their homes, streets and classrooms, and stressed the need for cultures to learn from each other.
