Charlotte Magazine: All Roads Lead to Washington for Anthony Foxx

Since U.S. Secretary of Transportation and Charlotte native Anthony Foxx '93 was sworn in on July 2, 2013, he has navigated major events, including the crash-landing of a South Korean jet and the missing Malaysia Airlines flight. Most recently, he has been focused on selling President Obama's transportation reform plan. Although the job is tough, with a dysfunctional and divided Congress, many believe that Foxx could be the one to get it done.

Foxx, who was unanimously confirmed by the Senate, recently ranked seventh among Fast Company's "100 Most Creative People in Business." As Charlotte mayor, Foxx convinced President Obama to hold the 2012 Democratic National Convention in the Queen City.
