Huffington Post: In Praise of Scholar Athlete Mel Giegerich '15

Mel Giegerich '15 has been a standout in the crowd in many ways at Davidson. She's an outstanding psychology student, a volunteer with autistic children, a varsity basketball player, a friend to bugs, and an inspiration to her older sister for her "incredible lightness of being." And, at 6'5" tall, she's been by far the tallest woman on campus for the past four years. Unfortunately, Mel's sister Caroline wasn't able to attend Commencement this year. But she has honored Mel with a public essay published in the Huffington Post that thanks and praises her on her many achievements. Most notably from the author's point of view, Mel has been "one of the most generous human beings I have ever been blessed to meet."
