New York Times: Davidson College Leading in Student Mental Health
Davidson College Dean of Students Tom Shandley is featured in a special education section in the Sunday New York Times. The story focuses on the new approaches colleges are using to address depression on campus.
As one of the four schools participating in a student resilience study funded by The Duke Endowment, Davidson has used early findings from the survey to offer new counseling options including Therapy Assistance Online, a web-based mental health service. The college also has taken novel approaches to reducing stress, like Puppy-palooza and a mobile art station.
