Dorothy McAulay Martin, “Dottie,” passed away Sept. 28 at The Pines in Davidson, North Carolina.
She served from 1985 to 1993 alongside her husband, former North Carolina Governor James G. Martin ’57, who graduated from and taught chemistry at Davidson College.
She is remembered by the people of NC as a beloved and gracious First Lady, active in issues involving education, substance abuse, spouse abuse, child abuse and child welfare, making innumerable lives better. Read more.
Services will be held at Davidson College Presbyterian Church on Saturday, October 3, at two o’clock, followed by a reception nearby at the E. Craig Wall, Jr. Academic Center.
