Background

I came to Davidson in the fall of 2017 to manage the upper-level Biology courses that focus on microscopic organisms and molecular biology. Previously I worked as a Lab Manager at Birmingham Southern College and an Instructional Laboratory Coordinator at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. I have over nineteen years of laboratory experience and nine years teaching experience at the college level.

Currently, I work closely with the other laboratory managers and faculty to strive for positive outcomes for our department. I am part of the Laboratory Safety Task Force who works to further minimize the risk to our students in the laboratories. Additionally, I serve as on Staff Council and as a Holistic Advisor to first and second-year students to help them plan their courses and smoothly transition into college life.

Teaching

I am offering a seminar course called Circadian Rhythms. I believe learning is multifaceted and requires a varied approach in the classroom and in assignments. In any class I teach, my main objective is to spark curiosity and excitement about the subject matter in my students through scientific inquiry!
