Background

In addition to teaching voice, I am a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist and Singing Voice Specialist at Charlotte Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Associates, where I work with patients with complex voice, swallowing and upper airway disorders daily. I completed my clinical fellowship in voice, swallow, and upper airway disorders at Voice Rehab, LLC in South Miami, FL in partnership with South Florida ENT Associates. Previously, I gained clinical experience in the treatment and evaluation of voice, swallow, and upper airway disorders as a graduate student clinician at Greenville ENT in Greenville, South Carolina.

I am currently a member of Carolina Voices Mainstage Choir under the direction of Dr. Peter Leo and Mr. Matthew Hinson, where I perform in the annual Singing Christmas Tree concert. I am also a member of Charlotte Master Chorale under the direction of Dr. Kenny Potter, performing regularly with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra.

In addition to my clinical work, I have taught private voice and piano lessons, choir and general music at the Pre-K-12 levels in New York and New Jersey. I formerly taught Applied Voice I and II at Ocean County College in Toms River, New Jersey. I also worked with children with visual impairments as a teaching artist at the Filomen M. D’Agostino Greenberg Music School in Manhattan, NY.

With the Westminster Symphonic Choir under the direction of Dr. Joe Miller, I have performed and premiered large-scale choral works with the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra at David Geffen Hall and the Kimmel Center, respectively, under the baton of Yannick Nèzet-Sèguin, Ted Taylor, and Manfred Honeck. As a soprano soloist, I have performed repertoire in the annual Carnegie Hall Honors Recital and in various venues throughout New York, New Jersey, and Prague, Czech Republic. While studying at Westminster Choir College, I completed regular voice research projects in the on-campus Presser Voice Lab.

I believe in holistic voice teaching grounded in evidence-based practice, a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology, and consideration of implicit/explicit motor learning principles. Above all, I prioritize helping each student to find and cultivate their unique voice. In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time outdoors and practicing yoga and pilates.
