TEDxDavidson College 2027 explores The Good Space—a conceptual place rooted in the communities and collective visions we co-create with intention, care, and love for humanity and future generations.
In a world marked by rapid change, fractured attention, and competing demands on our time and energy—intellectual, civic, physical, and digital good spaces are both increasingly rare and urgently needed.
Speakers will take the stage not as distant experts, but as members of our own community—faculty, staff, students, alumni, and partners who have lived these questions close to home. Whether through groundbreaking research, civic leadership, entrepreneurial risk, creative exploration, or quiet acts of service, each talk will offer a distinct vantage point on what it takes to build something worth belonging to.

What is TEDx?
In the spirit of discovering and spreading ideas, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxDavidson College, where x = independently organized TED event.
At our TEDxDavidson College event, TED Talks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. Speakers never pay to join a TEDx event. Consideration, speaker coaching and event participation along with attendance are all provided free of charge. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
Participating Departments and Centers
This is a cross-campus collaboration including the Sociology Department, Communications Department, Educational Studies Department, the Jay Hurt Hub for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Davidson College, the D.G. & Harriet Wall Martin Institute for Public Good, and the The William F. and Betty G. Mulliss Center for Civic Engagement.
