Educational Programming
Davidson College continues to build on its programming to develop historic accountability. These initiatives create a shared foundational understanding, fostering a campus culture rooted in awareness and purposeful reflection.
Teaching Initiatives
All students must complete the Justice, Equality, and Community course requirement.
First-year orientation for all incoming students includes viewing and discussion of a video about the history of enslaved and exploited people at Davidson College.
A similar viewing and discussion has been incorporated into the New Trustee Orientation as well as New Faculty Orientation.
Historic Sites
The newly-created position of Historic Sites and Program Manager, held by Martha Gimson, centralizes responsibility for preserving historic sites on campus, including Beaver Dam, and activating those sites as locations for teaching, learning and research
We invite you to participate in the many transformative events and programs that are happening on campus.
