Wildcats Put Downtime on Away Games to Good Use

A unique partnership between Davidson Athletics and the Betty and B. Frank Matthews II ’49 Center for Career Development was profiled by a leading higher-ed news outlet this week. Inside Higher Ed showcased how the Center for Career Development has developed programming for scholar-athletes who have a lot of free time during away games.

Josh King, associate director for engagement and athlete career development at Davidson, frequently hits the road with teams to help them develop networking skills or connect them to alums near their destination.

As IHE put it: “On a trip to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in January, Davidson’s swim and dive team participated in a networking challenge, visited a nonprofit, toured the University of Miami’s School of Law and Miller School of Medicine, and completed a résumé workshop with King.”
