Background

For over 20 years, I have balanced performing, recording, producing and teaching music. I am happy to be able to share my experience with my students at Davidson College.

I have toured nationally with countless bands in a variety of styles; rock, pop, blues, r&b, jazz, fusion, classical and acoustic. My guitar has taken me across the country, playing music in thousands of venues big and small; the Knitting Factory in NYC, DBA in New Orleans, the Boom Boom Room in San Francisco, SOHO in Santa Barbara, and even a stint for the Ringling Brothers Circus.

I have extensive recording experience and have been invited to play on and engineer hundreds of recording projects including 6 albums of my own compositions and the soundtrack Walking the West (2002 California Independent Film Festival Best Documentary).

There have been some exceptional players that I have been fortunate enough to study with; Classical Guitar under both Mike Mosley and Charles Vaughn at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Fusion Guitar under Tomo Fujita (former teacher of John Mayer) at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and Jazz Guitar with Oz Noy, Jim Campilongo, and Joel Harrison in NYC.

I feel that it is a joy to help students on their musical journey, whatever that path may look like. From the seasoned professional to the absolute beginner, it is my aim to connect with each student and help them reach their goals.
