Davidson College Young Alums Selected for Fulbright Grants

Six young Davidson College alums have been selected for the Fulbright U.S. Student Program’s 2026-2027 cycle. The grants for graduate research and English Teaching Assistantships will send recipients around the world, from neighboring Mexico to France and Spain.
The State Department’s Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers young graduates the opportunity to pursue academic and research interests while fostering international connections and relationships. Some 140 countries around the world participate in the program.
Davidson has consistently been named as one of the program’s top producers of grant recipients.
The 2026-2027 Fulbright finalists are:
Virginia Barber ’26, English Teaching Assistantship, Ecuador
Major: Political Science and Hispanic Studies
William Dooley ’26, English Teaching Assistantship, Spain
Major: Economics and Hispanic Studies
Harrison Grooms ’25, English Teaching Assistantship, Mexico
Major: Hispanic Studies
R. Vincent Mullis ’26, Study/Research, France
Major: Biology
Finalists Ellora (Mei Mei) Morgan ’26 and Neve Rauscher ’26, both offered English Teaching Assistantships in Taiwan, declined their Fulbright grants. Morgan has accepted a Davidson Impact Fellowship, and Rauscher was awarded the Watson Fellowship.
Wells Letson ’26, was named as an alternate for an English Teaching Assistantship in Spain.
