Scholarships

Eligibility

Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Must be between the ages of 17 and 31 upon graduation.
High school students must have a cumulative GPA above 2.5 and SAT > 920 or ACT > 19.
College students must have a cumulative GPA above 2.5 and be a full-time student.
Must be able to pass an Army Physical Fitness Test (example for an 18-year old).
- Push-ups in 2 minutes: 42 (male)/19 (female)
- Sit-ups in 2 minutes: 53 (both male/female)
- Run 2-miles in less than 15:54 (male)/18:54 (female)
Must be able to meet the Army height and weight standards or meet body fat % standards.
Must be able to pass a Department of Defense Physical.
Meet remaining requirements found in Cadet Command Regulation 145-1 (mostly administrative requirements).

Pays full tuition and mandatory fees.
Pays $600 per semester for books and supplies.
Pays a monthly stipend directly to the Cadet: $300 (FR), $350 (SO), $450 (JR), $500 (SR).
Davidson College provides 50 percent off room and board for all Army ROTC scholarship cadets.
Contracted, which entitles cadet to receive $250 per credit hour for taking Arabic, Russian or Chinese-Mandarin language classes.

High school seniors have until January 10 to apply for an Army ROTC four-year scholarship. Applications can be started as early as February of your junior year.
The first Cadet Command scholarship board meets in October of your senior year, so if you wait until January of your senior year to submit your application, you will have missed the first two scholarship boards. COMPLETE YOUR APPLICATION BEFORE OCTOBER 1.
Students interested in attending Davidson College on a four-year Army ROTC scholarship should apply to Davidson no later than November 15, to receive an early decision of acceptance by December 15.

Student must meet all eligibility criteria outlined above.
Students must be majoring in one of the Army approved language programs.
Davidson College currently offers Majors in Arabic, Russian and Chinese-Mandarin through the Center of Interdisciplinary Studies.
This scholarship can be awarded either through the 4-year application process or as a campus-based scholarship.

Student must meet all eligibility criteria outlined above.
Available to students that are interested in pursuing a career with the National Guard or Army Reserves.
This scholarship is ideal for students wanting to guarantee a duty station in the state from which they reside or wish to reside.
Student is required to participate in the Simultaneous Membership Program with the National Guard or Army Reserves, which automatically grants them Sergeant/E-5 pay on weekend drills. SMP cadets are paid approximately $225 per month for their monthly drills, which is in addition to their scholarship benefits.
Students are not eligible to utilize Chapter 1606 or 1607 GI Bill benefits with a three-year GRFD scholarship.
Students may utilize Chapter 30 (active duty) GI Bill benefits with a three-year GRFD scholarship.
Student must have three years left in college.
Student must agree to accept a commission in the National Guard or Army Reserves. Student understands that active duty is no longer an option.

Same a three-year GRFD scholarship, except student may utilize Chapter 1606 or 1607 benefits, if entitled.
Student must have two years left in college.

Students classified with STEM majors are eligible for two-year LTC scholarships. STEM majors are: Sciences, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics.
LTC is a 29-day course during the summer at Fort Knox, KY that incorporates all the freshmen classes, sophomore classes and basic course leadership labs into a team building course.
Students not able to attend all the freshmen classes, sophomore classes and basic course leadership labs are eligible for attendance. LTC is mainly geared toward students that decided to pursue ROTC at some point during their sophomore year.
No obligation is incurred by attending LTC. Student may elect not to continue in the ROTC program after completing LTC, but before they start their junior year.
Student is paid while attending LTC and the U.S. Army provides food, lodging and transportation.

Campus-based scholarships can be 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5 or 4-year scholarships.
Campus-based scholarships are originated on campus for students that are interested in an ROTC scholarship, who meet the basic ROTC scholarship eligibility requirements, but other scholarships listed above do not apply.
Cadet Command approves funding for campus-based scholarships, and they are currently in short supply.
Student must be enrolled in a Military Science/ROTC course to submit an application for a campus-based scholarship.
