Personal Statement

"My college experiences confirmed something I never stopped believing: a Davidson education prepares us not only for meaningful careers, but for lives of purpose and service. I am honored to be considered for the Board of Trustees at this important chapter in Davidson's history and would approach this responsibility with gratitude and a deep commitment to the alumni community.

Two Davidson priorities are especially meaningful to me. The first is the commitment to supporting the whole student. Thirty years of caring for patients across every stage of life, along with our work with the women's philanthropy advisory committee, have shown me that student health and well-being are foundational to academic growth, personal fulfillment, and future achievement. I would infuse that perspective into the conversation.

The second is sustaining a liberal arts education through faculty excellence, student opportunity, and alumni engagement. Through my alumni work, I have seen how relationships built here translate into mentorship, generosity, and a shared commitment to goals larger than ourselves. All this allows Davidson to prepare students for a complex and rapidly changing world and makes Davidson distinctively Davidson.

As an alumni trustee, I would listen carefully, think across disciplines, and reflect the values I see across our community, including curiosity, integrity, service, and genuine care for one another. I would be humbled to help steward the college we love for future generations."
