The Service Odyssey is an service-focused experience that reflects and enriches Davidson's commitment to develop the spirit of service within each student. The program is designed to build relationships among participants, increase social awareness and challenge individuals to work constructively within a group.
Outdoor Odyssey is open to any first-year or transfer student and will use outdoor activities such as canoeing, camping, and backpacking to build community for new students. Upper-class trip leaders support your small group of up to 8 incoming students, teaching you basic skills, creating space for you to work together to build relationships and share significant experiences. Participation is open to any skill level.
Elemental Odyssey fuses elements of wellness to build community and introduce healthy habits that support students’ ability to thrive in their college experience. Each day is spent intertwining dimensions of wellness to promote a holistic and lasting set of habits for individual and community well-being. Some activities include yoga and Tai Chi, a visit to Davidson’s Lake Campus, and exploring areas in and around Davidson College, as well as evening campfires with sharing and reflection circles.
