Student in the film and media studies program are required to complete the following:
Two required courses: FMS 220 (Introduction to Film and Media Studies) and a 400-level in Film and Media Studies approved by the interdisciplinary minor faculty. Some of these seminars may involve a project involving film production, others may require a research essay, while yet others may have elements of both.
Four elective courses from the list provided in the College Catalog.
No more than two production courses and only one independent study may be counted towards the minor, and no more than two courses in the minor may come from the student's major field of study. No more than two courses taken away from Davidson may be counted toward the minor.
A grade of "C-" or higher must be earned in all graded courses applied toward the interdisciplinary minor.
Students planning to receive the interdisciplinary minor need to submit an application to film and media studies by the last day of the fall semester of their junior year. Applications must be submitted to the co-coordinator, Prof. Maggie McCarthy, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
