Parents & Families

Family members are encouraged to take every opportunity to participate in the Davidson College experience. We want to help you stay connected to your student during his or her academic career.

Davidson is unique for having an attentive faculty and administration that is closely involved in students' daily lives. We view our relationship with you and your student as a partnership and seek to create a supportive system for every student and his or her family.

We understand that you expect your student to be in caring, capable hands. Our well-trained and dedicated staff work to create an engaging and fulfilling home away from home, while our outstanding faculty cultivate a stimulating educational environment. We hope you join us for the events below, and consider becoming a career development volunteer.

New Student Orientation

During New Student Orientation, incoming students have the opportunity to spend time with lots of people who will be integral to their time at Davidson. Students will learn about the college and its values, important resources, the town of Davidson, and hopefully something new about themselves.

Commencement weekend is filled with activities and traditions for graduating seniors and their families. Below are the upcoming dates for Commencement ceremonies.

Become a Career Development Volunteer

Students benefit from alumni and parent engagement and we encourage you to get involved with the Center for Career Development. Students need and deeply appreciate the support you can provide as they look to launch their careers. Serve as a job shadowing volunteer, hire a student, or facilitate a student internship by joining the Davidson Internship Challenge.
