As an international student, you can apply by way of the Common Application, Coalition Application or Online Application.
No application fee is required for international applicants. Use the Application Checklist to be sure you submit all the necessary forms.
In addition, non-U.S. citizens are required to submit financial aid documents and TOEFL or IELTS scores at the time of application.
If you have attended college and earned credit toward an undergraduate degree, your application will be considered as a transfer application.
English Proficiency Exams
TOEFL or IELTS exam results are required for applicants who are not citizens of a country where English is an official language.
Minimum required scores:
Davidson requires an official English Proficiency score (TOEFL or IELTS) from either the testing agency or your high school counselor; we will not accept TOEFL scores submitted directly from students or self-reported on the application.
- TOEFL: 100 iBT or 600 PBT
- IELTS: 7
Davidson will waive the TOEFL or IELTS requirement, after an application is submitted for students who:
- Have studied in an entirely English-based curriculum for their high school/secondary school years
- Are taking English at the higher level as part of the IB diploma
- Scored a 670 or higher on the Evidence-Based Reading and Writing section of the SAT
Keep in mind that while we may waive your TOEFL testing requirement, submitting your score with strengthen your application.
If your English Proficiency exam requirement is not automatically waived based on the criteria above, you may request a waiver by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with "TOEFL/IELTS Waiver" in the email subject line. Please provide the following information in your request:
- Full name as it appears on your application
- Date of birth
- Reason for requesting the waiver (one of the reasons listed above)
Financial Aid Documents
International students seeking financial assistance must apply for aid at the time of applying for admission. Applications for financial assistance from international students submitted after admission to Davidson are not accepted, nor will they be accepted during their duration of enrollment at Davidson.

Whenever possible, we want to meet you in person. Davidson's International Admission Officer travels extensively from August until November to meet with prospective students all around the world. If you are unable to attend one of our admission events, you are welcome (but not required) to submit an InitialView video to allow us to get to know you better.
