International Wildcat Update
Our International Admission Ambassadors have ended their time with the Office of Admission as they prepare for their summer experiences. We encourage you to check the summer admission interns page in June or visit this page again in September to meet out new International Admission Ambassadors.
As an international applicant to Davidson, you might have questions about attending college in the United States. International Admission Ambassadors understand and want to help you get to know Davidson from wherever you are in the world.
You are also welcome to send questions to admissionambassadors@davidson.edu for a student-oriented perspective on life at Davidson.
"Davidson is such a unique paradox—it is small in size but rich in opportunities. With relatively few students, the close-knit community here provides a safe space for everyone. What makes the Davidson community so supportive is not just the extremely caring faculty and staff, but also the bright peers and the kind residents in town. At Davidson, I have found professors who know my stories, friends who inspire me as a person, and a local host family that feels like home. Beyond its bonded community, Davidson also has limitless opportunities for students. Whether it’s the generous experiential grants, numerous study abroad options or accessible summer research programs, there is always something for me to explore. As an aspiring life scientist, I feel confident that Davidson’s resources will support me well in both career and personal development."
Campus Involvements: Biology Embedded Tutor, RISE Student Researcher, Chinese Culture Club, Davidson Androgyny A Capella, Mission 34 @ Davidson, Davidson College Motorsports
"I chose Davidson for so many reasons! The most precious thing to me is the tight knit community. There's something grounding about walking around campus and knowing people, feeling like everyone is genuinely looking out for each other. That extends to my professors too. I've come to really appreciate how their office hours are not just for questions about a problem set, but for actual conversations about ideas, career paths, whatever's on my mind that week. I also love the environment Davidson fosters, one that pushes you to explore opportunities outside your comfort zone, backed by real resources: grants, trips, and support that make it possible to actually follow through on those pushes. Having lived in different countries throughout my life, always moving around, Davidson makes me feel at home."
Campus Involvements: Davidson Entrepreneurship Club, Consultant at Hurt Hub, Sustainability Office, Theatre, Davidson Impact Fund, Adopt a Grand-friend, South Asian Student Association, Muslim Student Association Leader, and Residence Life Student Leader
Fun Fact: I have been on two fully funded career trips with Davidson to my favorite cities: NYC and San Francisco!
"There is no such thing as a stranger at Davidson. Davidson is the kind of place where you can walk into a campus event by yourself and leave with five new friends (trust me, I’m speaking from personal experience!). It’s a place that academically challenges you while also providing an incredible support system of professors and peers who genuinely want to see you succeed. Ultimately, I chose Davidson because the people here make it feel at home. As an International Admission Ambassador, I’m excited to share that sense of community with prospective international students and help them see what makes Davidson so special."
Campus Involvements: Davidson International Association (DIA), Student Government Association, Campus Tour Guide, Crew Team, Hurt Hub Student Consultant, Speaking Center Consultant, and Club Tennis.
Fun Fact: I’m ambidextrous!
"Davidson truly invests in your success, whatever that looks like for you, whether it's academically, in preparing you for what comes after graduation, personally, or in discovering your passions and who you are. Your professors, mentors, peers, and staff genuinely care about your well-being and about who you want to become, and they show up with the support to help you get there. That support has meant funding and encouragement to chase my own research abroad, faculty who welcomed me onto their own research projects, and professors whose office hours felt less like a formality and more like genuine mentorship, the kind of close, personal support I don't think you'd find anywhere else. Davidson cares about what you want to do and who you want to be, and the support you get from day one is indispensable."
Campus Involvements: International Admission Ambassador, Connor Eating House Treasurer, Former Assistant Treasurer, Former Alumni Chair, Davidson Pre-Consulting Society, Hurt Hub Davidson Consulting Group, Women in Business, Assistant Teacher for Hispanic Studies Department, Women's Club Soccer.
Fun Fact: I went shark-cage diving in South Africa!
"My main reason for becoming a Davidson International Admission Ambassador is to help students from around the world discover the place I am fortunate to call my second home. I am excited to share the experiences and opportunities Davidson has given me, but most importantly, the lifelong relationships I have built, and continue to build, within this close-knit and diverse community. From the Honor Code and outstanding academics to the beauty and charm of Davidson itself, there is so much that makes this college special. Davidson can feel like a hidden gem to students abroad who may not yet know all that it has to offer, and that is exactly why I am excited to help more international students discover it for themselves."
Campus Involvements: Bonner Scholar, Greek Students Association, Self-Instructed Greek Tutor, Davidson Pre-Consulting Society.
Fun Fact: My name is roughly 2,800 years old!
"The past three years have borne the most rewarding experiences of my life—college has been so much more than I could ever have imagined. The highlights are the opportunities I’ve taken advantage of around the world, supported by Davidson, both financially and through mentorship and guidance. But the real gems are the in-between moments: every interaction you’ll have at Davidson will leave you in awe of the quality of people you’re surrounded by."
Campus Involvements: Badminton Club, Pan-Asian Student Association (PASA), Deliberative Citizenship Initiative (DCI), Davidson International Association (DIA), International Pre-Orientation Leader, On-Campus Research, Club Pickleball.
Fun Fact: I went skydiving with my Davidson best friends during Fall Break!
"Why Davidson? The people! Davidson College faculty and staff want to get to know who you are as a person before they look at your grades. I have met countless students who will go out of their way to be of service to someone else, not because it's transactional, but because of the mutual trust, love, and support that is foundational to who we are as a community. As an international student I am beyond grateful for the connections I have created at Davidson in just my first year here. They have been my absolute pillars of support whenever I have missed home. The Davidson curriculum is undeniably rigorous, but we thrive in that rigor because of the academic support we give each other on campus. It's never a competition because there is more than enough room ( and resources) to go around!"
Campus Involvements: Student Government Association (SGA), Chidsey Program for Leadership Development, Davidson African Students Association (DASA), Rock Climbing Club, RUF, InterVarsity, College Union Information Desk Attendant
Fun Fact: This summer, I got stranded while on the tallest operating rollercoaster in the U.S., and the rain started pouring! (Yes, I would absolutely do it again.)
