Beginning with the Davidson College Class of 2025, five students annually will be awarded the James B. Duke Scholarship of full tuition and fees. The award is renewable for their four years at Davidson, provided GPA, progress toward degree, and campus engagement requirements are met.

In keeping with the life of Mr. Duke, these high achieving students will demonstrate through their admission application and a required supplement that their diverse talents, work ethic, resilience and concern for others give evidence of their capacity to make a difference in the world.

James B. Duke Scholars will be awarded full tuition and fees plus a $5,000 one-time stipend to be used for applied, relevant learning experiences during their Davidson tenure. Duke Scholars will be offered guidance and mentoring by the program director.

Finalists for the James B. Duke Scholarships will be notified in March and will participate in Davidson Celebration and Recognition Weekend in April. All first-year students admitted to the college, via early decision or regular decision, are eligible for consideration for the James B. Duke.
