Davidson College supports and must endorse qualified Davidson candidates (except alumni) for the Mitchell Scholarship. Davidson Mitchell candidates must apply through the campus application process, which begins in the spring semester before the annual application deadline. The campus process requires advanced submission of application materials (including references’ recommendation letters) and at least one interview in late summer/early fall. The campus interview process will determine if a candidate is eligible for Davidson’s Institutional Endorsement, which is required for all candidates (except alumni) for Mitchell Scholarships.
The campus endorsement application process and resources are available in the Mitchell Fellowships Toolkit article (Handshake login required). Students and alumni interested in applying are encouraged to contact Gaylena Merritt, Associate Director for Fellowships & Experiential Learning, as soon as possible to discuss their candidacy.
