The NOAA Hollings Scholarship is an internship program that takes place over the course of two academic years. The purpose of the program is to provide scholars with 'hands-on' experience that will influence their academic and professional careers and networks. 

The program offers selected applicants a scholarship of up to $9,500 for two academic years of full-time study and a 10-week internship ($700/week). The internship takes place between the first and second year of the program involving NOAA-related science, research, technology, policy, management, and education activities.

  • Class year: Sophomores
  • Citizenship: U.S. citizenship required
  • GPA: Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and a minimum 3.0 GPA in major field of study
