Welcome Message

Welcome to the Class of 2022!

You've been admitted to one of the finest, most respected colleges in the nation and we could not be more humbled to welcome you to our community. It was a privilege to get to know you through your application and we believe that you will be a great Wildcat.

We know you likely have been accepted to a few (or more) excellent schools. As you consider your next steps, here are several points that we believe distinguish Davidson.

  1. Faculty
Superlative credentials aside, our professors are dedicated to undergraduate teaching and research. From incorporating students as co-authors in their research to inviting them into their homes, Davidson professors create a bridge between the classroom and the world.
  2. Honor Code
Sure, the take-home tests and self-scheduled exams are a privilege that most other students only dream of, but the ideals of the Honor Code run much deeper than academic policy. More than 170 years of trust run through this institution and the result is a security that enhances academic and personal freedom.
  3. Civic Engagement & Innovation
These are not just a buzzwords around here–the Davidson community applauds putting ideas into action. Students engage in active service learning every day on campus and across the globe. Nearly 92 percent of the Davidson student body engaged in substantive service work over the last academic year.
  4. Location
The town. The city. The lake. With its green, sprawling campus, and close proximity to Charlotte, Davidson's location offers students the best of all worlds.
  5. NCAA Division I Athletics
In addition to supporting 21 Division I teams, Davidson students are active at the club and intramural levels too. They enjoy sailing, flickerball, rock climbing, kayaking and much more.
  6. International Studies
Davidson's small size is no indication of its international reach. Our students gain broad access to the international community through the Dean Rusk International Studies Program and the Study Abroad Office. Eighty percent of Davidson students will study, work, or serve abroad while enrolled at the college.
  7. Your Fellow Students
Reflect on all that you've achieved and accomplished in your high school career. Now project those accomplishments on a student body of 1,920 other students from nearly 50 states and as many countries. When this talented and powerful group comes together, anything is possible.

We hope that this site will deepen your understanding of the exciting opportunities for intellectual and personal discovery that lie at the heart of the Davidson experience. From this point on, count yourself among friends here, and let us know how we may be of assistance.

We congratulate you on your acceptance and look forward to welcoming you to campus soon as a member of Davidson's Class of 2022!
