Once a month, 8-10 fellow students work on a service project with a local nonprofit organization.

Each service project is student-led, and addresses a different social issue. After each service outing, you and your group members will discuss the experience over a meal.

Fall 2019 Outings

September 21: Our Towns Habitat for Humanity ReStore

Our Towns Habitat for Humanity operates three Habitat ReStores to help raise funds for our affordable housing programs. Habitat ReStores accept donations, then resell these items to the general public at a fraction of retail prices. Their model keeps usable goods out of landfills, offers wonderful bargains and one-of-a-kind treasures to shoppers, all while supporting Our Towns Habitat’s new homeownership and critical repairs programs.

October 19: Davidson Community Garden

Davidson Community Garden brings people together from the entire community to grow abundant, healthy food to donate to the Loaves and Fishes food pantry at the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson.

November 9: Hinds’ Feet Farm

Hinds’ Feet Farm is dedicated to serving persons living with brain injury. Their mission is to maximize the post injury potential of persons living with brain injury with integrated, unique and holistic programs; allowing our members to pursue meaningful activities while developing a sense of belonging at home and in the surrounding communities. They will accomplish this mission with unique, person-centered, post-rehabilitation community-based programs.
