Community-Based Learning Courses
There are a number of regularly offered courses at Davidson that include community-based learning components or focus on social action themes.
The terms "social action" and "community-based learning" often carry different meanings across disciplines. The courses listed on this page engage students in projects, research, or assignments that meet a community-defined need with public and non-profit organizations; encourage students to become active participants in the political and social world around them; and/or promote students' understanding of contemporary social issues.
