Established by former students and friends of Dr. Jeremiah L. Putnam to honor his 46 years of dedication and service to Davidson College, this fund supports students with strong academic potential and a proven interest in the biological sciences.

Awarded at the discretion of the Biology Department, this funding will assist students seeking to further their education through international internships, research, or coursework. Preference is given to students with demonstrated financial need.

Dr. Putnam’s desire is for this to be a unique experience set apart from more standard research or internship experiences, and be an experience that a student could not have otherwise gotten. Some opportunities that could potentially be funded include participation in the Davidson-in-Zambia program, performing research overseas, doing an internship with an international non-profit, or working at a zoo.

More details about the application process will be forthcoming. Contact Professor Paradise if you have questions.
