Faculty

The English Department's faculty members specialize in a broad range of topics, and each of us holds a Ph.D. or M.F.A. We support independent student research and writing in classes, independent studies, and through summer research programs and grants, and we involve students in our ongoing scholarship and creative work. Through a gift of Davidson alumnus John McGee, the college hosts a distinguished writer in residence one semester each school year who teaches creative writing classes, helps direct senior honor theses and contributes to the life of the college through readings and other appearances.
