Education abroad is an invaluable opportunity that supplements the Davidson undergraduate experience.

During the Summer in Ghana Program, students reside and take classes in Cape Coast, a major city rich with commercial, educational, and cultural activities. As one of Africa's most beautiful and progressive countries, Ghana is a democracy with a multiparty political system.

As a participant in the program, you visit the site of two important slave castles, the largest virgin rain forest in the country, and are immersed in modern and traditional Ghanaian life.

The program includes a one-credit course, a non-credit performing arts course, a service project, and excursions into other regions of Ghana. Ghanaian professors and artists teach all classes. To ensure that you get a feel for Ghanaian life, you will be living in a comfortable guesthouse close to the University of Cape Coast and downtown Cape Coast.
