CPT Zachary A. Tousignant currently serves as the Assistant Professor of Military Science at Davidson College.

He hails from Holly Springs, North Carolina, and received his commission from North Carolina State University in May 2017 as a Field Artillery Officer. He then attended Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader Course at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, and was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
While serving in the 25th Infantry Division, he was assigned to 3-7 Field Artillery Battalion and served as a Troop Fire Support Officer (3-4 CAV), Platoon Fire Direction Officer (2/C/3-7 FA), Platoon Leader (2/C/3-7 FA), Executive Officer (B/3-7 FA), and Future Ops Planner (3-7 FA).
Following the Field Artillery Captains Career Course, he was assigned to the 11th Airborne Division, where he served in 2-377th PFAR as a Battalion Fire Support Officer (3-509th PIR) and as the Bravo Battery Commander.
CPT Tousignant is a graduate of the Field Artillery Basic Officer Leader Course, Field Artillery Captains Career Course, the United States Army Jumpmaster Course, the Cold Weather Orientation Course and the Combatives Level I Course.
His civilian education includes a Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering from North Carolina State University.
CPT Tousignant’s awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (3 OLC), the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Overseas Service Medal, Expert Soldier Badge, Parachutist Badge, and Air Assault Badge.
CPT Tousignant is married to his wife Hayley Tousignant, and they are raising their two daughters in Mooresville, NC.
Mr. Steven Shambaugh is currently assigned as the Senior Military Science Instructor at Davidson College.

Mr. Shambaugh is a retired Captain from the United States Army and National Guard from the State of Illinois.
He was a Transportation and Logistics Corps officer. Prior to his retirement, his assignments as a commissioned officer were: Sustainment Officer for the 404th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, Battalion Maintenance Officer for the 1144th Transportation Motor Transport Battalion, Commander for the Headquarters Company 1144th Transportation Motor Transport Battalion, Executive Officer for the 1744th Medium Truck Company and Platoon Leader for the 1744th Medium Truck Company.
As an enlisted Soldier, he served as a Cavalry Scout Staff Sergeant. His enlisted assignments include 2 tours in South Korea, a tour in Germany and an extended tour in Bosnia and Herzegovina to support Operation Joint Guard and Operation Joint Forge. He also served 1 tour with Task Force Grizzly under Joint Task Force Six to support the Counterdrug Operations in the southwestern States of America.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from Governors State University in Illinois. He is a graduate in Transportation Officer Basic Course from The Army Logistics University, Basic Non-Commissioned Officer’s Course from the Armor School, NBC Defense Course, Primary Leadership and Development Course, Air Assault Course and Basic Reconnaissance Course.
Mr. Shambaugh’s military awards include the Army Commendation Medal (3 silver OLCs), Army Achievement Medal (2 silver OLCs), various campaign medals, the NATO medal, Air Assault Badge and the 9th Infantry Manchu belt buckle.
As a civilian, Mr. Shambaugh has served 14 years of federal service in the Department of Veteran Affairs, Army Corps of Engineers and the Department of the Treasury.
