Davidson College Chamber Singers is a select mixed-voice ensemble of undergraduate scholar-singers dedicated to intimate, imaginative, and thoughtfully curated choral performance. The ensemble’s work often grows from contemporary themes, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the distinctive intellectual life of Davidson College (North Carolina, USA). Recent projects have included a tour to Germany, Unmasked: COVID-19 Choral Vignettes, a reflective short-form program exploring musical responses to pandemic and collective disruption; Bach’s beloved Coffee Cantata in collaboration with the North Carolina Baroque Orchestra; and a site-responsive performance for Susan Harbage Page’s Embodied Cartography in Territorial Disputes, with repertoire placed in dialogue with the exhibition’s exploration of migration, memory, and lives left behind. Chamber Singers perform in traditional concert settings as well as in atypical spaces across campus, bringing close attention to text, place, and shared human experience.
Davidson Chamber Singers meets from 4:30 – 5:40 p.m. on Mondays. Members are expected to be members of Chorale, with limited exceptions.
