The distinguished accomplishments of the department's faculty have been recognized by national and international education and research organizations.
Three of our professors have been distinguished by the Mathematics Association of America, and research has been supported by multiple foundations, as well as the Department of Energy, the National Security Agency, and the National Science Foundation.
Our foremost concern as a department is excellence in instruction, so we routinely bring our students into our work, fostering close, mentoring relationships, which is one of the benefits that comes from a small liberal arts school like Davidson.
