You can minor in art with an emphasis in either art history or studio art, and the two disciplines are closely entwined. Our goal is to encourage creative approaches to learning in all disciplines as part of the broader liberal arts curriculum.
With either area of emphasis, six courses are required, as follows.
To minor with an emphasis in art history, you must take six courses in art history, including ART100, and at least one course in the history of architecture. You may substitute one studio course for one art history course.
To minor with an emphasis in studio art, you must take six courses in studio, of which at least two must be at the 200 level. You may substitute one course in art history for one studio course.
