Recruit at Davidson
Members of our team are pleased to assist you in recruiting the best students for your internships, research positions and full-time job opportunities, as well as graduate and professional school programs.
Hundreds of companies, organizations and graduate schools have learned the value of our students and alumni, and how they can contribute their knowledge, skills and diverse backgrounds to various roles.
Most recruiting starts through our online recruiting system (login required). Get started with Handshake now to share your opportunities.
Connect in Person
We have great options for reaching our students in a more personal way, all of which are easy to arrange. Connect with the employer relationship manager for your industry to learn more about your options. We will handle all the details of your on campus visit, including extensive targeted marketing to students, academic departments and student organizations, as well as room reservations, catering and online scheduling.
Engage with students in one-on-one conversations to share insights about your organization or program. Typically lasting 20 minutes, coffee chats offer a great informal way to have personalized interactions with the students who are most interested in your opportunities.
On Campus Information Sessions
If one-on-one coffee chats do not feel right for you, consider a 30 minute session to share the nuts and bolts of your organization or program. Following the formal presentation, students are invited to stay to network with your presenters individually. This abbreviated informational session gives students more flexibility with their schedules and you still get the great interactions you are seeking with multiple students.
On Campus Interviews
Setting up an interview day (or two or three) at Davidson gives you easy access to our students and is often the first step before bringing finalists to your office. Half-day, full-day, pre-screened, open sign-up, multiple rooms, staggered schedules, case studies – we've seen them all. We will custom-build the schedule to fit your particular needs and provide you space in our designated interview rooms.
We understand that not every employer can make it to campus. We have had success with live virtual sessions and webinars. We advertise and support these sessions in the same manner as our on campus presentations to bring you as much student interaction as possible.
Consider leading a 45-minute workshop on a skill-building topic such as “Building Your Personal Brand” or “Investment Banking 101”. Complete the hour using the last 15 minutes as a time for an abbreviated ‘information session’ to discuss specific opportunities with your organization or program. Combine your workshop with some coffee chats, and you’ll have a solid day of on-campus recruiting.
Many organizations and programs use this platform, especially if they are new to Davidson and want to build brand recognition among students. We place the tables in the Alvarez College Union, the center of student life, or a relevant academic building where you will connect with the students you most want to meet.
Fairs and Symposia
Each year, we host multiple fair-style events with specific industry focus. Set up an informational table, engage with students directly and meet your next hire at one of these events.
Annual Law School Fair
The Betty and B. Frank Matthews II ’49 Center for Career Development (Matthews Center), in partnership with our Prelaw Society, is delighted to host admission representatives from nearly 60 of the nation's top law schools on campus for our annual Law School Fair. Davidson College students, students from our partner schools in Charlotte, and early-career professionals will have the opportunity to connect with representatives and learn more about their law programs.
