Employees serving in the military reserve or National Guard are not required to take vacation time for military leave.

Each year, these employees receive up to two weeks leave at half salary to attend required annual training.

Employees should give supervisors as much advance notice as possible and should provide a copy of the written orders received.

Employees who enter the military on an active duty status shall be granted a leave of absence as prescribed by law. Benefits and seniority will also continue in accordance with the terms of the law and the terms of the applicable benefit plans or programs.
