Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Commitment
Davidson College has established standards and procedures to be followed by investigators applying for external funding to ensure that Davidson’s research enterprise will not be biased by any conflicting financial interest of those investigators responsible for the proposed activities.
Conflicts of interest and commitment must be disclosed using Davidson’s Conflict of Interest and Research Security Disclosures form (formerly Disclosure of Financial Interest) prior to the submission of any research or creative works proposal, upon the award of a grant or other funding instrument, and annually throughout the course of the funded project.
Conflict of Interest training is mandated for individuals involved in federally funded research by U.S. federal regulations. These policies are designed to safeguard the integrity of the U.S. research enterprise against conflicts of interest and conflicts of commitment.
