To be candidates for election to Phi Beta Kappa, students must be seniors in good standing and of good character who have maintained an overall grade point average of 3.6 or above on at least 18 countable courses graded by Davidson professors.

Elections take place at the beginning of the spring semester and are by ballot of the faculty and staff who are members of the chapter.

Please note that election to membership is not automatic on the attainment of a certain grade average. In accordance with the constitution of the National Society, to be considered for election, students must be of "high scholarship, liberal culture, and good character." The chapter can elect no more than 12.5 percent of the senior class.

For more information, please see the chapter's informational brochure on the Phi Beta Kappa page.
