The Ombuds Office is available to faculty, staff, and administrators at Davidson College. Visitors are welcome to reach out to schedule a confidential, informal conversation about a concern, conflict, question, or situation they would like to think through.

When reaching out by email, please include only basic scheduling information, such as your name, contact information, and general availability. To help preserve confidentiality, please do not include detailed information about your concern in the email.
The Ombuds will respond to schedule a time to meet by phone, Zoom, or in person, as appropriate.
Meeting Options
The Ombuds Office can meet with visitors in several ways:
- Phone
- Zoom
- In person, when available
Some visitors may prefer to begin by phone or Zoom; others may find that an in-person conversation is most helpful. The Ombuds will work with visitors to identify a meeting format that fits the situation and availability.
Email and Confidentiality
Email is useful for scheduling, but it is not the best way to discuss confidential concerns. Because email may create a record and may not provide the same level of privacy as a direct conversation, visitors are encouraged to use email only to request a meeting or ask general questions about the Ombuds Office.
The substance of concerns is best discussed directly with the Ombuds.
Invite the Ombuds to a Mmeeting
Departments, offices, committees, and other groups may invite the Ombuds to attend a future meeting or gathering to share more about the role of the office, how it works, and when it may be useful.

Emergency or Urgent Safety Concerns
The Ombuds Office is not an emergency service and is not a substitute for emergency response, law enforcement, medical care, mental health crisis support, or formal reporting channels.
If there is an immediate threat to safety or an emergency, please contact the appropriate emergency resource directly.
