Center for Student Health and Well-Being Response to COVID-19

As the threat of COVID-19 continues, the Center for Student Health and Well-Being is offering a hybrid service model for the Fall 2020 semester to most appropriately meet the health and safety needs of our students. See below or refer to our Counseling & Health Services Related to COVID-19 for more details of these revised services.

The Center for Student Health and Well-Being nurses, physicians and counselors see students by appointment for routine health services and exams and counseling-related concerns. In most cases, same-day appointments are available for urgent needs.

A nurse and a counselor also remain on-call after hours or on weekends.

Make an Appointment - Health Services

Based on the current recommendations of the CDC, the State of NC and our Medical Director, the health center has moved to a telephone triage model for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester.  Students can call 704-894-2300, and press #1 to speak to a nurse 24 hours a day.  If it is determined that a student needs to be seen, the nurse will coordinate a time for the student to come in to be assessed by a Healthcare provider Monday through Friday.

Make an Appointment - Counseling Services

To make an initial appointment, students are most efficiently served by calling our office at 704-894-2300 during regular business hours (weekdays, between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.).  Students can also schedule an appointment by emailing us at with a completed and attached Weekly Availability Sheet (PDF). Emails and messages will be returned within 24 hours during regular business hours.

After Hours

After hours and emergency care is available to students.
