Students are encouraged to visit and take advantage of the center beginning in their first year.
We provide services, programs and opportunities that allow you to explore how your academic and personal interests relate to future professional opportunities, entrance into employment, internships, fellowships and graduate school programs; and success through on- and off-campus interview opportunities, employer information sessions and job and graduate school fairs. How-to-Guides & Diversity Resources
We offer students a variety of how-to guides and resources to help them prepare for their career journey, such as guides to writing resumes/cvs, cover letters and personal statements, assessing job offers, networking and multicultural resources. Industry-specific tools and resources are available to aid in your search for experiential learning, full-time jobs and fellowships and graduate or professional school. Our guides and resources can be found on Handshake (login required).
Meet with a Career Adviser One-on-One Career Advising
Benefit from an array of in-depth and personalized sessions with our career advisers, available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
Virtual Walk-in Advising Hours
Virtual Walk-ins are being held over Zoom. Much like in-person walk-in advising, students will be able to meet with an adviser for any quick questions they may have. Individual walk-in sessions will last approximately 10-15 minutes. When using the CCD Walk-in Advising Zoom link students will be directed to a waiting room where they can hang tight and an adviser will assist shortly.
Law School and Medical School
The Center for Career Development is an excellent campus resource for students interested in pursuing law school or medical school after Davidson. Students can request an advising appointment with a CCD adviser through Handshake (login required). Learn more about Law School and Medical School.
