Davidson College works to ensure that Commencement is an accessible experience for students, families and guests.

Students

Davidson College seeks to ensure full accessibility for students participating in Commencement. Please email commencement21@davidson.edu if you will need to request an accommodation, such as a processional route and/or seating arrangement that is accessible to you.

Guests

Davidson College welcomes requests for reasonable accommodations related to disability and will strive to make this program accessible to participants. Please contact commencement21@davidson.edu to make such a request.

Wheelchair Rental

For our commencement visitors needing mobility assistance, Davidson has made arrangements with National Seating Mobility 704-333-8431. They will deliver for an additional fee. In addition, wheelchairs may be rented from Penrod Medical 704-630-1155 in Salisbury, NC. They can deliver to surrounding hotels.

Parking

For those guests with a handicap placard, handicap spots have been reserved on Faculty Drive and in Baker Parking lot. For more information about parking locations and handicap parking, please review the parking information page.

Drop-Off Locations

There will be a drop-off location for guests with limited mobility but do not have handicap placards at the loop on Faculty Drive. For more information about parking locations and handicap parking, please review the parking information page.

Accessible Seating

Outdoor accessible seating in the stadium will be designated as a specific section with blue ribbons and signs. This area is available on a first-come, first-serve basis for visitors with disabilities, in particular those individuals with physical disabilities. In order to accommodate visitors who need accessible seating, we encourage guests that do not need these locations to sit elsewhere. Specific accessible seating locations forthcoming.

Sign Language Interpreters

A sign language interpreter will be standing beside the stage. Their image will also be displayed picture-in-picture on the jumbotron screens.
