As the JEC Archivist, I work with faculty, staff, students, and community groups to develop new archival resources and programming centered on issues of justice and equality. I am particularly interested in the gaps in the archival record —both in digital and physical formats—archival silences as related to local refugee populations, Presbyterian history, and race.

My interests include scholarly communication, user experience, emerging technologies, library spaces, both virtual and physical, and the constant and never-ending improvement of the library.

I coordinate Interlibrary Loan, with a focus on providing research material from our library and other libraries around the world to Davidson faculty, students, and staff while also providing material to other libraries from our collection here at Davidson.

My primary responsibilities include communicating with vendors, processing materials and invoices, and managing the library’s print and electronic holdings. I also manage the library’s various social media accounts and help with special projects as needed. As a recent graduate of Davidson myself, I seek to maximize student awareness of and access to the library’s many academic resources and services.

I manage the music library located in the Sloan Music Center. Besides supervising student workers, I strive to provide great customer service to faculty, staff, and students. I also process all reserve materials for music courses, help prepare new music library materials, and special projects as needed. I enjoy studying and playing a diverse range of musical styles, especially traditional Appalachian, bluegrass, jazz, and classical.

I order all of the firm orders, which include books, DVDs, scores, and CDs, and ebooks, that aren't part of a subscription, for use in both the main library and the music library. I enjoy the challenge of finding obscure overseas titles and out of print items that faculty request.

I am interested in usability and quality control and the use of data to help make informed decisions. I also enjoy sharing technical skills to facilitate use of the array of tools available.

I provide vision and leadership to capture, acquire, and share college history. I create and implement the college records management program. I acquire manuscripts and books for Archives and Special Collections and provide research assistance and instruction using the resources in the department.

My day to day duties include managing circulation, stacks maintenance, and scheduling/supervising student workers. I am the person for students to see for library locker and carrel assignments. I also have responsibilities for course reserves, both electronic and physical.

I work in the access and acquisitions department, and as night circulation supervisor, I supervise student workers at night during the school year. I also work with interlibrary loan and library systems.

As the assistant director for access, acquisitions & operations, I am responsible for the supervision of the physical building, daily operations, and circulation. I am also in charge of the operating and materials budget, the receipt and payment of invoices, and the oversight of workflows for the acquisition of books, eBooks, serials (paper & electronic) and government documents.

My current work focuses primary in converting library materials from the Dewey Decimal cataloging system to Library of Congress.  I also catalog and label new materials for the library including videos, musical scores, reference, oversize, and D-room items.

As an information literacy librarian I teach instruction sessions on performing library research, and meet individually with students to discuss questions about research. I am interested in scholarly communication–particularly the advent of open access–and the assessment of information literacy.

As the assistant director for research, teaching, and collections, I manage the information literacy program, collaborate with faculty and staff on information literacy initiatives, and coordinate reference and instruction.  My professional interests include transliteracy, digital studies, and exploration of innovative pedagogies.

I am responsible for the print serials collection in the library. I am in charge of processing incoming print serials and newspapers, maintaining the current and main periodical collections, as well as updating our records and claiming missing issues.  I also prepare and process damaged and unbound items needing to be sent to the bindery.
