Who is eligible to apply for transfer to Davidson?
Students who will have successfully completed at least one full year of acceptable college course work upon enrolling at Davidson College. Students must plan to be enrolled at Davidson for at least two academic years (16 courses).

Is need-based financial aid available for transfer students?
If you intend to apply for need-based financial assistance, your financial aid application materials are due at the time you submit your application for transfer admission (November 1 for spring semester and March 15 for fall semester). Davidson requires both the FAFSA and the CSS Profile. Please note that merit scholarships are not available to transfer students.

When should I submit my application?
The application deadline for the spring semester is November 1. The priority application deadline for the fall semester is March 15 for students who would like notification by late April/early May. Applications will be accepted until late April.

What are the possible decisions by the Admission Committee?
Accept; Deny; Wait List; or Decision Postponed pending final grades for current term.

How difficult is it to be accepted as a transfer student?
Competition for admission to Davidson is selective. We receive applications from many more qualified students than we are able to enroll. Successful transfer applicants have earned at least a B+ average at their current college/university, outstanding high school records, and strong standardized test scores. Character, integrity, and potential contribution to the college community are also important in our selection process.

Are standardized test scores required?
Providing SAT or ACT scores as part of your transfer application is optional. If you are admitted and choose to enroll, official scores must be sent to our office either as part of your final high school transcript or directly from the testing agency. Davidson's CEEB number is 5150. The ACT number is 3086. Read our testing policy for more information.

Are international students considered as transfer applicants?
If you have attended college and earned credit toward an undergraduate degree, your application will be considered as a transfer application. At Davidson, the transfer admission process for international students is highly competitive and financial assistance is limited. International transfer students are eligible for mid-year and fall enrollments.

Non-native English speakers are strongly encouraged to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). TOEFL scores must be sent directly to Davidson by the testing agency.
