Personal Statement

In recent years, I really enjoyed my time serving on the Alumni Association Board and the Board of Visitors. That experience—separately and together—gave me a chance to spend more time on campus, which was great and made me appreciate the Davidson community even more.

My first job really proved the value of a Davidson education. It was as a speechwriter for a Member of Congress. That role, which entailed taking in a ton of information, contextualizing it, distilling it down, and packaging it—was just like what I learned as a History major and through my broader Davidson experience. I still believe I use the well-roundedness of a liberal arts education every single day, both personally and professionally. It’s a great culmination.
